  • Fountain support: Added a fountain(...) helper that converts basic Fountain screenplay text into Typst screenplay formatting.

  • Metadata parsing: Fountain input can provide title, author, credit, and date information for the title page.

  • Screenplay structures: The converter recognizes scene headings, character dialogue, transitions, and centered notes.

  • Font compatibility: Replaced the single Courier dependency with a fallback stack using Courier New and DejaVu Sans Mono, avoiding warnings on more systems.

  • Font customization: Documentation now explains how to explicitly select Courier New or another preferred monospace font.

  • Heading compatibility: The documented option is corrected to capitalize-headings, while the older capitalized-headings spelling remains supported.

First off, I can't merge this because you left this in the README:

This project is a fork of danielFHcode/typst-screenplay, originally created by Daniel F.H. The upstream project and author are credited here; this fork adds the changes documented in CHANGELOG.md.

Also, if and when to release a new version of a package is generally a decision left up to the package maintainers.

  • Fountain support: Added a fountain(...) helper that converts basic Fountain screenplay text into Typst screenplay formatting.

  • Metadata parsing: Fountain input can provide title, author, credit, and date information for the title page.

As mentioned here adding fountain support is not something that's planned for this package.

You are welcome to create your own package depending on mine that implements this functionality - though in accordance with the typst universe naming rules I request you do not name it something like its-scripted-fountain-support, but rather come up with a distinct name that makes clear you are not affiliated with this package.

  • Font compatibility: Replaced the single Courier dependency with a fallback stack using Courier New and DejaVu Sans Mono, avoiding warnings on more systems.

  • Font customization: Documentation now explains how to explicitly select Courier New or another preferred monospace font.

This package already supports DejaVu Sans Mono as a fallback, all you've done is remove Courier as the default which is undesirable considering it's the industry standard.

  • Heading compatibility: The documented option is corrected to capitalize-headings, while the older capitalized-headings spelling remains supported.

This is a typo in the docs that needs to be fixed, but not via merging this pull request as it contains too many other unwelcome contributions.

As a side note, if your intention is to use my package for the sake of AI movie script generation, I request in good faith that you don't, that was not the intended use-case of this package.
